The second edition of the Hong Kong International Conducting Competition has recently come to a close. Sixteen contestants were selected from a pool of 194 candidates. (...) The winner of the competition was Rodolfo Barráez of Venezuela, who chose to conduct Schumann's Symphony No. 4 in the final round.

After five days of grueling rehearsals and performances, Berlin-based Venezuelan conductor Rodolfo Barraez took the first prize in the 2nd Hong Kong International Conducting Competition on Sunday.

Igor Stravinsky’s 1919 version of “The Firebird Suite,” based on a classic Russian folktale, as performed. It tells the story of a handsome prince, his beautiful princess and a magical bird that saves them from evil. Dudamel conducting fellow Rodolfo Barraez, led the performance.

The concert itself opened with a rousing rendition of Mozart’s overture to The Marriage of Figaro, letting associate conductor Rodolfo Barraez show off his most vivacious self and setting an energetic tone for the evening. Has the elegant and staid surrounding of Victoria Concert Hall ever held an audience so young that wasn’t a special ’youth’ concert? 

(...) Rodolfo Barraez made his second appearance as the newly-appointed associate conductor of the SSO, opening the concert with the Overture to The Marriage Of Figaro by Mozart. Barraez’s attention to detail and energy were clear to hear and see. It was heartening to see early signs that the SSO musicians will build an artistically rewarding relationship with Barraez in the coming years.

Venezuelan Eisler student Rodolfo Barráez has been appointed as the new Associate Conductor of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra from the 2022/23 season. The Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra also selected him as one of the four Dudamel Fellows for the 2022/23 season.

The Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) has announced 28-year-old Venezuelan conductor Rodolfo Barráez as its new Associate Conductor after an international search. Barráez succeeds Joshua Tan, who held the position from 2013 to 2021.

The Los Angeles Philharmonic announced the four conductors selected as the 2023/23 Dudamel Fellows: Luis Toro Araya (Chile), Rodolfo Barráez (Venezuela), Chloé Dufresne (France), and Linhan Cui (China).

El director venezolano de 24 años, Rodolfo Barráez fue electo como el ganador del primer Premio Internacional de Dirección de Orquesta OFUNAM 2018, tras interpretar "Collage" del compositor Armando Luna  y el cuarto movimiento: Allegro con fuocco de la "Sinfonía no. 9 en mi menor, op. 95, Del nuevo mundo" de Antonín Dvorák.

Rodolfo Barráez y Paolo Bortolameolli defendieron el pabellón iberoamericano. El primero es un nuevo canterano de la factoría Abreu.
